The world may be in a darker place than it was nine months ago, when Germind released his last full-length album (Thoughtform), but the artist himself seems to be in a better space. As the title indicates, this album represents a view that refuses to give up hope. It is noticeably more upbeat than some of his previous work. In fact, Not Darkness may well be Germind's best album since Antimatter. Undergirded by his familiar, somber drones, it moves with a new positive energy. Paul Asbury Seaman

Nobody matches the utter bliss and spiritual purity of Entheogenic. He's clearly a real musician too, not just a computer whizz, so there's a greater depth provided by the lush guitar and strings arrangements and sparse vocals. The production quality is the best. Of the more recent few albums which are all A1, this has the epic and essential track Oakseers, nuff said. Mark 007
